As a retired couple from the Netherlands we have travelled through many different countries in the world. Doing that we have come to appreciate the importance of a good driver and guide. In Mihiruk we have found the best driver/guide we could have wished for. A safe and careful driver is important in the hectic traffic of Sri Lanka and Mihi drove us safely and carefully through busy towns and sometimes over narrow bumpy roads to remotely situated places or accommodations on our roundtrip. As a guide he could tell us the ins and outs of every interesting place we visited and not only that. Also about the culture, the religions and the people of Sri Lanka he could tell us more than our Lonely Planet and he could answer any question we might have. Mihi also made sure every booking that had been made for us was followed up correctly and when a walk at a historic site was too far or too steep he would organise a tuktuk for us , which we found very considerate . As a person we found him very friendly and trustworthy with a good sence of humour and a very easy-going person to spend fourteen days of our time with. Mihi is an excellent, fair, and trustworthy driver/guide. He showed us around Kandy and took us to wonderful places. Since we couldn't get tickets for the train to Ella, Mihi helped us out and drove us to the train station in Nuwara Eliya for a good price. Along the way, we stopped at tea plantations, an impressive waterfall, and a lake, based on his recommendations. He even took photos of us. It was two very enjoyable, unforgettable, and educational days, and we are very grateful to him.
